Each frantic snowflake
waltzes to its own solitary
rythm of the wind.

A flurry of white cotton dress
decorating this endless world of
serene, silent beauty.

A fine blanket of snow
protects the icy ground
and frosts the prickled leaves and berries,
details finishing this picture
of bare, towering trees
set against the cloudy white sky,
a stretching pane of translucent heaven,
shielding the newborn earth.

The oak branches hang low,
comforting,
the only defense againt this snowglobe
of the iciest wind
screaming through the land.

Fog plays hide-and-seek with the sky...
everywhere is deserted-
no one dares venture into this
suddenly estranged world
of snow and ice and magic.

i really, really hate this.

i needed to make a christmas present for my dad and i didn't find anything at the store, so i decided to write a poem for him instead with a picture. these past few days, though, i've had really bad writers block and all my poems sound dead and ugly T_T like this one. i spent about 2 and a half hours outside, freezing my ass off to try to find inspiration, which i never did find anyway, and im left with this, which is about the most dead thing ive ever written.

so. sorry for that rant. : (

(and no, i COULDN'T find a more original name for it.)
